ABOUT THE GREAT RISING

A Network of Networks

The Great Rising is not a conventional organisation per se. Rather, it is a flat, non-hierarchical network of networks with which independent truth and freedom campaign groups can affiliate. For now, it manifests as a brand with a logo and recognisable identity, and this website, which offers various resources and links to campaigns and other websites.

Genesis

The Great Rising started as an initiative of the Holistic Alliance for Real Ecology (HARE). It was first outlined on the Richard Vobes Show on 18 May 2023 and inaugurated at a conference of activists in Stroud on 18 June 2023.

The Team

The Great Rising is run by a small team of dedicated, unpaid volunteers from HARE and related campaign groups.

Funding

The Great Rising is funded from our own pockets, with occasional donations from supporters. We operate on a shoestring budget and try to spend every penny wisely.

Core Values

These are the essential values which affiliated groups undertake to uphold.

TO DO: Identifying and defining these values turns out to require some further careful thought, to avoid being corny and shallow. So for the moment, this is a placeholder / work in progress, subject to further refinement.

If you run a campaign organisation, network or website that you would like to affiliate with The Great Rising, please contact us at HARE, providing your full name, website address, official email address and your logo file, together with an undertaking to uphold the values described above.
